Kindly be aware:
- Airtel categorizes traffic as international if your sender ID denotes a brand that sends messages to multiple countries. Therefore, if you send messages from Kenya to an Airtel subscriber in any other country, the message will be classified as international.
- Messages up to 160 characters are treated as a single message. Any content surpassing this limit will be regarded as a new message.
- Additionally, please be aware that the use of special characters impacts your character count, reducing one SMS to 70 characters instead of the standard 160 characters.

- Signed and stamped consent form/letter on company letterhead (format given after payment)
- Business registration certificate
Guidelines
- -Must have a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 11 characters.
- Must be derived from, and almost match the business name.
- No spaces or special characters, except underscore _
Sender ID can be transactional or promotional
• Transactional services focus solely on essential transactions such as payments, banking, and account-related information. The advantage is that recipients will receive SMS even if they block marketing messages. However, telcos are stringent, and any marketing attempts can lead to immediate blocking and financial loss as the assigned SID becomes unusable.
• Promotional messages serve marketing goals, but if someone blocks marketing SMS by dialing *100#, they won’t receive them. However, you can still send marketing SMS
more freely, unless there’s significant backlash or you engage in fraudulent practices.
